Telecoms, Media, Technology & Intellectual Property

The TMT sector in Uganda is one of the fastest growing. Whether you are a multinational mobile network operator or a disruptive technology start-up, our experienced team is available to navigate you through the licensing process and guide your business in this nascent and evolving practice area.

Our team includes Christopher Luwaga, a former Senior Legal Manager at American Tower Corporation who has worked on prominent deals in the passive infrastructure sector including operationalization of the joint venture between American Tower Corporation Inc. and MTN Group.

Christopher also co-chaired the UCC Communications Industry Working Group on Telecom Infrastructure Sharing that developed the Draft Telecoms Infrastructure Sharing Guidelines.

We also have capabilities in advising on digital financial services and are available to hand hold start-ups such as FinTechs through the interplay between regulation and financial technology.

Our clients in this sector cut across the telecommunications, media, technology, biomedical, digital finance, and financial sector regulators.
Christopher’s practice is focused on the intersection of law, finance and technology and how that nexus can be harnessed for sustainable transformation. Christopher returned to legal practice after six years as in-house counsel at American Tower Corporation (ATC) where he advised on various commercial, legal and regulatory aspects of ATC’s operations in Uganda.
