Natural Resources, Oil & Gas

Natural resources law governs how people can use the parts of the environment that have some economic or societal benefits. Generally, these benefits include air or wind, light, water, soil and plants, animals that occupy the land, and underground minerals or oil.
As natural resources lawyers, we give legal counsel to businesses such as energy companies, who are in the business of gathering natural resources and converting them into energy. We also advise Governments on how to defend the public's right to access resources.
Private landowners also seek our counsel to establish and protect their right to use natural resources on their property.

We practice across the entire value chain of the petroleum sector to provide solutions tailored to the business needs of clients. The team complement includes both lawyers and chartered accountants committed to providing clients with commercially grounded solutions.

Mining & Metals
The mining sector in Uganda has gained traction and several sector reforms are currently being pursued to attract more investment. We have been involved in advising on some of the biggest mining transactions in Uganda and the East African region as a whole and you have the benefit of being served by an experienced team.
